Join us at Green Drinks on Tuesday, February 16th!

Our next Green Drinks Calgary will be held on Tuesday, February 16th at the District, 607 – 11th Avenue.

Eco-celebrities confirmed:

Bridget O’Connor has partnered with BizBOXTV’s Lisa Ostrikoff, Todd Gallant and Tish Bell to launch “The Green Room TV“; a fun & informative Environmental Web TV Series, featuring amazing initiatives that organizations and individuals practice around Calgary. The Green Room TV will be on hand to talk to those interested in having their environmental organization featured. If that’s you, or if you know of local Calgarians doing good for the environment, tell us about it!

Mike Unrau, Manager of Environmental Education with Green Calgary & Heather Hendrie, Green Calgary Community Organizer, will be on hand to promote their new EcoLeaders 2010 course.

Kray Mitchell, Marketing and Community Relations for BorrowMe.com

Alla Guelber, Alberta Acts on Climate Change

This year, in addition to great conversation, we now also have great food and drink too, courtesy of the The District (our new venue).  The District likes to use locally grown organic produce and naturally raised beasts. We make our own bacon, ketchup, aioli and mustards. They even brew their own beer on site and their wine and beer menu is primarily sourced from smaller operations, sometimes even organic.  For this reason alone they are a preferred venue of ours.

The District will have Happy Hour pricing from 4-7PM on select drinks (see drink menu for details). They will also be providing a limited run on free samples or appetizers early in the evening and a special gift card to each attendee (must RSVP to receive one). They will also be providing a door prize for every event that we have there.  For these reasons we have made them our exclusive venue for 2010.

Please RSVP on meetup.com to be eligible for the special gift card.

Use linkedin.com or facebook.com to promote the event for us.

Green Drinks is bullfrogpowered for Earth Day, April 21

Green Drinks Calgary is an event to network, discuss business, meet new people or have a drink with friends or colleagues.

Earth Day event, April 21, 2009, 5pm

Green Drinks Calgary is celebrating Earth Day by being bullfrogpowered with 100% green electricity.

This means that Bullfrog Power will inject carbon-free green power onto the Alberta grid to match the amount of electricity used by this event. All of the electricity injected on our behalf will be sourced exclusively from 100% made-in-Alberta wind producers who meet or exceed the federal government’s EcoLogo(M) standard for renewable energy.

Choosing green, carbon-free power is an easy way for homes, businesses and organizations to help fight climate change and create a healthier environment for future generations. We invite all of you to visit Bullfrog Power on the web at www.bullfrogpower.com

Admission is free however a donation can be made when you sign in or when you leave. Any amount, large or small, is appreciated and will be used to continue promoting Green Drinks Calgary.  Donations are used to cover costs that include reusable name tags, MeetUp.com fees and printing costs.

Please make sure to get a ticket for the door prize draw before 6:30PM.

location directions
Vicious Circle is located 4 blocks south of the 1st St. LRT station and 6 blocks north from the Elbow River pathway. There is a parking lot a few doors down on 1st Street and on-street metered parking after 6pm. For those looking for cabs, there is a hotel just a block away with taxis at the ready.

location specifics
Vicious Circle kindly requests your permission to hold your credit card if you would like to start a tab, otherwise the payment method for food and drink orders will be cash & carry. This is to avoid walk-outs, which have happened at just about every event thus far (and the wait staff are required to cover that tab). They will also automatically add a group gratuity to all bills so there is no need to tip more.
